Artist, focused on paintings and animal and landscape portraits, also on commission.

Animals have been my favourite subjects since childhood

I was born in Gardone Val Trompia, in the province of Brescia, on 1st May 1973. I have had a passion for drawing since I was a child, and right from the start animals were my favourite subject. After all, Gardone is a town that captivates with its landscapes and the uncontaminated nature that surrounds and protects it, comfortably clinging to the mountain ridges that slope down into the valley. It was a logical consequence to follow up my passion in my studies, with a diploma from the Art Institute.

Education: studies and workshop experience

My artistic creativity then exploded, accompanied by a desire to learn painting techniques. I became a pupil of the famous painter Adriano Grasso Caprioli, with whom I studied various painting techniques. In his workshop, I studied and learned the oil, tempera, watercolour, pastel and acrylic techniques. His is a material painting, full of smudges and drips, far from my inspiration, but I learned his great attention to form, the rhythm of composition and the structural harmony of his works. In 2002, I successfully attended the engraving school "Il Bisonte" in Florence to study graphic art and complete my training. I already painted and exhibited my paintings.

Paintings and portraits of landscapes, animals and dogs

Chamois, deer and roe deer became a source of great inspiration for me, and being able to portray them on a grey winter's day or in late autumn in the woods with burnt colours or in high altitude pastures always gives me wonderful emotions. I love to study and observe wild animals in solitude, and that is how I like to paint them. But I also have an infinite love for dogs, which I love to portray both when they are working and when they are close to me, in the garden or at home. For years I have carefully studied their morphology and anatomy, I have watched and admired their gait and behaviour countless times to be able to reproduce it on my canvases..

Objects, products and decorations

In addition, I have my own line of products that faithfully reproduce the subjects I depict on canvas, such as pocket emptiers, plates and underplates in Bassano ceramics - all strictly handmade. My works lend themselves well to decorating homes and becoming part of the furnishings, like my wool and cashmere blankets, which I can also line with fine fur, both synthetic and natural..

Commissioned paintings and portraits of people, animals and landscapes

The appreciation for my painting became concrete and tangible for me when my paintings became more and more commissioned by my clients, who ask me for family portraits or oil or tempera paintings of a subject dear to them. I am always delighted to do them, as it is an old and special kind of work that I am particularly involved in. I have done paintings on commission not only for famous hunters, but also for many families of the finest Italian entrepreneurs or even for those who simply love their dogs.

Opinions and publications

My art and my works in print

I had the pleasure of being interviewed for some specialised magazines, such as Case&Country. In addition, some of my paintings have been chosen to be used as covers or inserts in hunting and animal magazines. Here are some of the publications and my works in trade magazines.

Some of my works that I considered worthy of publication can be found in very limited edition prints. I have collaborated with several hunting magazines, including Diana Cacciatrice and Beccacce che Passione, Sentieri di caccia, which have published some of my paintings on their covers..
